Mary Jane Lang
Born and raised in the Chicago area, Mary Jane Lang started on piano, followed by the clarinet, and then the viola. She has had professional performing experience on all three instruments utilizing many different musical styles. In her composing she has endeavored to be useful to music teachers and students, as well as professional performers looking for repertoire which is a little different, but conventional enough to be very accessible. She is a graduate of Eastman School of Music and later, Indiana University. Throughout her career she has successfully combined teaching and performing, as well as writing and arranging music for various occasions.
